This is one of the most unique towns you can have the pleasure to live in or just go visit.  Like so many little towns in Sullivan County, it appears small while driving through it and before you know it, you have passed it!  On closer examination, it is not so small.  Some of its residents are pretty big in my opinion, and I don't refer to their size but to their vision, dedication, and untiring commitment to single-handedly rebuild this town from inside out, to be again the "Small Town USA", a safe and healthy environment most of us would love to live in and raise our families. The credit goes to Barbara and Ken Schmitt and Patsy and Bill Resnick.   A whole town has been reawakened due to their efforts and a big dream!

Mountaindale has been the home of the Catskill Cougars for a few years, a minor league baseball team.  They have brought much excitement to youngsters and their parents alike. We hope to see them back again this year.

	Aside from the business district with its antique stores, cafe, luncheonette and post office, take a closer look at the buildings and storefronts.
	Take a look at the restoration of some of these buildings. All new electric, heating, walls & flooring.  Just move right in start your business venture!

A lot of work still needs to be done, but it's well under way and deserving of recognition!		Barbara and Ken's vision included a Center for Telecommunications, a whole town geared toward a specialized market.  Why not, this is the computer age where your work can be done from home.  Try Mountaindale!

Drive up Post Hill Road and before long you will find Mountaindale Park with a lovely fishing lake and Braden Brook.  Just what this little town needs.
